She said they didn’t need any information from me and said if I came before Saturday to buy the cabinet it was mind I could pick it up. I placed the cabinet on hold and was told by the nice person working the front that I had until Saturday COB to pay, since it was close to closing on 3/23. I went on Wednesday 3/23 and looked at a cabinet. This review is more for Bearden Antique Mall to change there hold policy for items. I hate writing negative reviews like this and only do so if it is warranted.) Hopefully, others will not have an experience like mine. The only reason I even gave 2 stars is because of how electric and rare some their items offered for sale are. My advice, do your homework before doing business with this place and be prepared to be treated with a snooty attitude. Also, it seems to me that the items listed for sale on their website are over priced in comparison to other consignment stores and recent items that have been sold at auction. I will not do so now and I definitely will not recommend this place based on this experience. Had their rejection response carried a different tone, I would have possibly submitted other items. As it turns out, I am sitting on my parent's entire estate of possessions which were collected during their 60plus years of marriage. HOWEVER, just because they do not want the 4 items I chose to initially inquire about, does not mean that I do not have anything else or know someone who has items they are looking to consign. I understand they have the right to chose which items they accept and which they do not. I am a firm believer in its not what is said, but rather how it is said. I suppose my negative opinion of this place can be attributed to the TONE of their response. The only conclusion I can draw is that the appraised value of my items ( roughly $2500 -$3000 for the sofa alone) is not "high end" enough in oder to be what they are looking for. The response I received was that they would not be interested in the TYPE of items I had. I gave a thorough description of each item and included pictures of each of the 4 pieces. I have several very high end pieces from my parent's estate that are in great condition and were originally purchased in the late 60's and early 70's. Their website states they accept high end consignments from the mid-century time period and to submit an inquiry if interested which I did. I did not actually visit this store but I did browse their website and spoke by email regarding one of their offered services.
